[The video feed opens on a boy sitting on a bench. It looks like the sun is setting already, so either someone got a late start today or this boy only just learned how to use the 'Gear. The boy isn't really all that remarkable, outside of a very serious expression. The background appears to be New Bark Town, so get ready for some of those New Trainer Questions.]

Hello. I was told I should talk to this device to get some answers about this place.

[He rests his hands on his knees and leans forward, still staring the device down.]

Why are there houses on the surface?

[...Well apparently we're just going to get straight to the point today.]

It should be dangerous for anyone to live up here.

[He's silent for a long time, still staring at the device like it's going to magically give him some answers. A beep comes from the 'Gear which seems to startle him a little.]

I also want to know about the creature that came out of this. [Rossiu holds up a Pokéball.] It was pink and blue and immediately went into this strange device. It won't come out.

[That doesn't seem to bother him all that much, actually. His very serious expression hasn't shifted at all. After another few seconds of silence, Rossiu glances upward at the snow still falling.]

Finally, what is this? I've never seen anything like this before. It's much colder than it is back home.

[At least he's dressed a bit better for the snow than most of his friends...]

[He figures that if the rest of Team Gurren are here they'll get in contact with him. With that, Rossiu gets up from the bench and leaves and the 'Gear turns off.]

...wait, so you live underground because of some kinda dangerous stuff happening on the surface...? That's a pretty good idea, actually, even if it's not particularly heroic! It seems like it'd get kinda dingy after a while, though.

[adai]

Well, it was something everyone has done for years. We didn't think anything about it.

[He's not sure why she's so concerned with it being heroic though...]

I'm pleased to see that this place isn't like that.

[...He doesn't really look all that pleased, but it's just his face.]

Yeah, so am I! Things could get pretty dicey where I was from, but everything's really nice here. It's nice to not have to worry about fighting horrible things from the beyond all the time, and there's still plenty of room for adventure!

[adai]

I'm not sure I'd call them "horrible things from the beyond", but I know what you mean. Though I could do with a little less adventure, for a little while at least.

[As much as he likes everyone... it's kind of exhausting being around so many loud people.]

Can you tell me what your world was like? If that's okay, I mean.

I don't know, if they're bad enough that you have to live underground, they sure sound like horrible things from the beyond. And hey, that's okay! Some people have to be the damsels, right?

[WAIT CYNTHIA NO]

And yeah, it's fine! I don't think we could've hid underground or anything because instead of... you know, whatever, we had legions of the undead. And because they were probably in the ground anyway being underground would probably just mean they'd come from the walls instead of the ground.

The undead...? That's horrifying.

[He actually looks properly horrified by that, so at least there's that!!]

How did that happen? Did you guys manage to stop them?

[APPARENTLY IT'S STORY TIME, TELL HIM EVERYTHING, CYNTHIA]

Well, not yet, but we're working on it! We need to go back in time to prevent the evil dragon god Grima from being revived and causing the world to be overrun... which is going to happen, but I got kind of sidetracked by showing up here.

But that's totally fine! Whenever I get back, I'm sure I'm going to end up in the right place anyway!

You're very confident about it. How did you manage to go back in time?

[This is very strange, but it sounds interesting!]

Oh, well that was all on the Goddess Naga. I don't know if we could've done it ourselves without any divine intervention... but I guess we didn't have to try!

[adai]

Divine intervention...

[Rossiu goes quiet for a moment, looking thoughtful. He doesn't seem upset at least.]

It sounds rough. I hope everything works out for you all.

Oh, I'm sure it will! There's no way it can't go well for awesome heroes like us! We're going to punch that evil dragon god back into last millennium where he belongs!

Here's hoping you guys find a way to deal with... whatever it is that makes you have to live underground, too! I mean, that can't be fun.

It's definitely not fun. Living above ground isn't easy either, but I'm so glad I can see the sky. We'll do everything in our power to take back the surface.

Yeah, that's the spirit! Just watch out for weather... it isn't always bad, but snow and rain can be a bit of a drag if you're stuck out in them when you're traveling. They're fun when you're not, though!

[adai]

Back home it's been raining for a whole week. I hope it doesn't get like that here. At least with Dai-Gurren we didn't have to worry too much about the terrain. Traveling here is going to be difficult in that sort of weather.

[Not that he's planning on moving right away anyway. Alphonse brought him to Cherrygrove, so he's fine!]

The Dai-Gurren? What's that? I'm guessing it's some kinda big vehicle because they have those here and they're awesome, but I don't really have anything like that back home, so I don't know what that... would be like...
