✩ FIRST DISCOVERY | VIDEO | BACKDATED TO 2/9
[The video feed opens on a boy sitting on a bench. It looks like the sun is setting already, so either someone got a late start today or this boy only just learned how to use the 'Gear. The boy isn't really all that remarkable, outside of a very serious expression. The background appears to be New Bark Town, so get ready for some of those New Trainer Questions.]
Hello. I was told I should talk to this device to get some answers about this place.
[He rests his hands on his knees and leans forward, still staring the device down.]
Why are there houses on the surface?
[...Well apparently we're just going to get straight to the point today.]
It should be dangerous for anyone to live up here.
[He's silent for a long time, still staring at the device like it's going to magically give him some answers. A beep comes from the 'Gear which seems to startle him a little.]
I also want to know about the creature that came out of this. [Rossiu holds up a Pokéball.] It was pink and blue and immediately went into this strange device. It won't come out.
[That doesn't seem to bother him all that much, actually. His very serious expression hasn't shifted at all. After another few seconds of silence, Rossiu glances upward at the snow still falling.]
Finally, what is this? I've never seen anything like this before. It's much colder than it is back home.
[At least he's dressed a bit better for the snow than most of his friends...]
Thank you for your time. I would appreciate any information you can offer.
[He figures that if the rest of Team Gurren are here they'll get in contact with him. With that, Rossiu gets up from the bench and leaves and the 'Gear turns off.]

It went into your Gear?
[...]
What did you say it looked like, again?

[He would just tell Rossiu to do it himself, but he's not sure he...can...]

[Well he's currently rocking the reading skills of a third grader despite being fourteen, so there's that!!]

Hello? Is anyone there? If you are, I would like to speak with you.
no subject
HELLO! IT IS VERY NICE TO MEET YOU. THANK YOU FOR CONTACTING ME.
no subject
Hello! My name is Chihiro Fujisaki. You are in your trainer's Gear right now, correct?
no subject
no subject
Do you think you could come out for the time being, though? Just long enough for him to get to know you.

[And after a moment, out pops the Porygon! It beeps in a manner that probably implies that it's happy, though Rossiu just looks kind of disturbed.]
So you're the Pokémon that was in the ball...?
[It beeps again, bobbing up and down in a full body nod. Rossiu turns his attention back to the 'Gear, shifting so that it's properly focused on him again.]
Um, thank you for helping out.
no subject
That message went to his own Porygon, who appears just a moment later nearby, beeping curiously as he hovers over. ...and oh. Oh it's another Porygon c:]
These Pokemon are called Porygon. They are unique in that they are manmade...so they can inhabit technology, like the Gears. I like them quite a lot.
[Zip gives a quick succession of beeps in agreement, waggling his little paddle feet for good measure.]
no subject
[As if to confirm that, Rossiu's Porygon beeps out something that sounds like "Gon!"]
That sounds very interesting. I don't really know much about technology. I didn't even know about electricity until I went to the surface. I guess this will take some getting used to.
[The Porygon gets all up in the 'Gear, beeping excitedly at seeing another one of its species. Hello friend!!!]
no subject
After a moment, though, he pulls back so Chihiro can actually talk to Rossiu again.]
That's alright. You will have plenty of time to learn about it, I am sure. And your Porygon will help you.
I work a lot with technology myself, so if you ever run across something you are confused about, you can ask me if you would like. My name is Chihiro Fujisaki.
no subject
I'm very interested in technology, but I have a lot to learn. I'll definitely have more questions for you. My name is Rossiu.
[Surnames aren't really a thing in his world. Sometimes people use their village's name as part of their name to differentiate where they're from, so maybe that's what Chihiro is doing? Chihiro's also a pretty unique name, huh.]
It's very nice to meet you. You've been a great help.
[Rossiu's expression hasn't really changed much, but he does sound happy.]
no subject
[Something about his sternness reminds him of Ishimaru, in a way...and he wonders if they might get along if they ever met.]
I have bred Porygon and currently own two as well, so if there is anything you aren't sure about with them I can try to help you there, too. It also might be helpful if you can think of a name to give yours.
[It's never obligatory of course, but Chihiro finds it nice to name his Pokemon. Especially the ones with big personalities.]
no subject
[The Porygon beeps in response and Rossiu glances at it curiously.]
I'll have to think about it. It needs to be a good name.
[He could name it after someone from home, but that doesn't feel very unique. It would just be comparing the Pokémon to the person all the time and that doesn't sit right with him. Hmm.]
...What do you mean by "bred"? These are capable of having babies?
[That's... certainly something, isn't it?]
no subject
Ah, well...Porygon are different in that they are a bit more difficult to breed. There is a certain Pokemon called ditto that can breed with them, though.
Most Pokemon are capable of breeding, as strange as it may sound for some...they all hatch from eggs, as well.
no subject
[THIS IS REALLY CONFUSING, CHIHIRO]
no subject
I did say that, yes...to be honest, I don't really know how it works, exactly. I arrived here as a breeder, you see, so that is something I have been trying to figure out.
What we do know is that some Pokemon are compatible with one another...and if they are, they may breed and produce eggs.
no subject
[AND HE STARTED WITH A PORYGON...]
That's very interesting. I'm not sure I understand how a man-made creature can reproduce and hatch from an egg, but I suppose that's something else I'm going to have to get used to.
no subject
I don't know if you will be able to actually work on breeding soon...but if you do plan on trying it out, I would recommend doing so. It's surprisingly enjoyable.

[He is just a wealth of info over here for you apparently...]
You will also need more than one Pokemon, but that will come in time.
